The Tale of Cupid and Psyche: From the Origino of the Myth to Antonio Canova

The exhibition illustrates various interpretations of the myth, so complex that it offers multiple interpretations, from antiquity to Neo-classicism- on which Antonio Canova based his sublime works of art- passing through the great Renaissance cycles, from Raphael to Giulio Romano, from Perin del Vaga to Polidoro da Caravaggio.

CASA DI GOETHE. Via del Corso,18 Until 2 June
The litographs at the Casa di Goethe are there thanks to the famous editor and art dealer from Berlin, Paul Cassiner. A high level of artistic illustration in books and magazines was his great passion. In 1924 he created a project consisting of a series of works by contemporary artist dedicated to poetry by Goethe. The four files narrate the different approach by every artist. The selection of the poetries were selected by the single artist, altrought every poetry was to appear only once in the entire edition.

The Secret Archive of the Vatican Revealed

For the first and maybe only time in history the archives will cross the borders of the Vatican. The will do so to be dislayed in the splendid rooms of the Capitoline Museums in Rome. One hundred precious original documents covering a period of time stretching from the 8th century to the 20 th century have been selected from the treasures of the secret Archive of the Vatican where they have been preserved and protected for centuries.

The exhibition presents 60 Russian paintings and architectural models of the beginning of 20 th century from the state gallery Tretyakov and Russian regional museums such as Kazan, Kirov, Krasnodar, Nizhny, Novgorod, Pskov, Samara, Saratov. A series of works or art which document the birth and development of Avantguard in Russia.

CHIOSTRO DEL BRAMANTE. Arco della Pace, 5 Until 30 June
An exhibition dedicated to the famous Spanish artist. The delicate, poetical surrealism of his work is the focus of an exhibition in the spring, in the splendid Renaissance rooms of the Chiostro del Bramante.
